Seabrooke Leckie, Contributor
Full name:
Seabrooke Leckie
City, state, country:
South Frontenac, Ontario
Biography:

I am a writer, illustrator, photographer, and generally a wearer of many hats. I live in southern Ontario, currently to be found wandering the woods of the Frontenac Axis north of Kingston in eastern Ontario. I grew up on five acres in the countryside west of Toronto, where I learned to appreciate nature and all of the creatures in it.

I pursued this interest through university, where I obtained my B.Sc.H. in Zoology from the University of Guelph. Upon graduating I spent a number of years travelling to do bird research contracts, and volunteering at bird observatories. During this period one thing lead to another, as things often do, and I find myself now turning to writing and art as a career direction.

I am currently involved in a number of projects, including a collaboration with a friend on a field guide to the common moths of northeastern North America, to be part of the Peterson Field Guide series, which will feature images of live rather than pinned specimens. The book is expected out in 2010.
