Immigrated to Canada from Singapore; lived in the Greater Vancouver area for 11 years before moving to Calgary, AB to pursue a Masters (biotechnology).
Will be starting an MS in Entomology this January at Texas A&M; area of research will be investigating the molecular biology & physiology of blood feeding and pathogen transmission in ticks (project not yet specified).
I'm a collector and naturalist during my spare time. I now focus mainly on beetles and heteroptera with a special interest in Canadian and northwestern carabids and the aquatic beetles (mainly Dytiscidae but hydrophilids and others to a lesser extent) and also true bugs.
