Biography:

I'm a graduate student studying plant community ecology in the prairies of Western Washington. My experimental work is primarily concerned with determining the extent to which prairie plant species are seed and microsite limited. Nothing's quite as exciting as sitting around and watching plants grow. Luckily, my field work gives me daily exposure to insect populations for extended periods of time. I get to watch them emerge, progress through their various life history stages, mate, oviposit, and, sometimes, die. I take photos whenever I can. I hope to share some of them here with you.
