Biography:


Botanist/ecologist with Iowa Department of Natural Resources.

I travel frequently across Iowa, both as a professional ecologist and an avid kayaker. I presently carry a shockproof, waterproof pocket camera (Olympus Stylus 720 SW), which enables me to always have it handy for spontaneous photo-opportunities of landscapes, plants, lichens, and insects. I live in a old farmhouse on a rural acreage near the tiny town of Ackworth, so many of my photos of insects are from habitats in my yard or of ones that have found their way into my house.
