Biography:

I am an entomologist and have been doing my lecture "A Look Into The Insect World" for libraries, schools and interested groups in the Augusta, GA area for 29 years now. I earned my BSA in Entomology from the University of Georgia in Athens in 1975.

I describe myself as a generalist, and as a diplomat for the insect world. My goal is to pique children's and their parents and other adults interests in insects enough so that they will study insects further via books and classes.

My family raised 100 Cecropia caterpillars every year during my childhood. We also raised Polyphemus and Ailanthus moths, and Mourning Cloaks, Monarchs and Black Swallowtails and my father took many photographs of these insects entire life cycles.

I am working on identifying 2000 insect slides taken by my late father, Philip Bergh. I usually go to the family level, but am slowly identifying more insects to the subfamily and genera levels.

I am a member of LinkedIn and manager of their Insects and Entomology group.
