I am a lifelong naturalist, having worked in environmental education for most of my professional career. I am currently a Park and Recreation Manager for Mecklenburg County, Charlotte, NC, managing operations in 25 nature preserves. I was born and raised in Ohio, but now North Carolina is home. I started out as an avid birder (and still am) but have broadened my interests to include just about any natural history subject, including reptiles and amphibians, butterflies, dragonflies, botany and more recently moths. I just can't stand not knowing what a plant or animal is if I encounter it in my backyard or woods!
