I've been fascinated by arthropods and reptiles since my childhood. I was the kid constantly exploring the creek with butterfly net and coffee can in hand. As an adult, I traded that in for a camera, and try to document whatever fascinating creature I happen upon. This endeavor got more serious in the year 2000 when I founded the nature stock photography company CritterZone.com. With that I've been able to show people the fascinating nature of insects and arachnids via publishing and advertising. My photos have appeared in a number of educational materials, advertisments, books, magazines, newspaper and even television. I was fortunate enough to get a still image on an Animal Planet show. Regardless of whether I sell pictures or not, I enjoy every minute out in the woods. In fact, I probably spend too much time out there. I don't have formal training in entomology, just a love for the subject matter. I'm still learning new things every day, and try to help others seeking answers about the macro world. Here in the midwest, I find ample opportunity to track down insects in the warm months, and tend to pursue birds and mammals when it gets cold out.
