I am a professional microbiologist with the CDC's Division of Parasitic Diseases and Malaria and am involved with the DPDx Project. My job includes the identification of insects and other arthropods of medical/public health importance.

I have been collecting and identifying insects (mostly beetles) since 1985. My personl interests in Entomology focuses on the Nearctic click beetles (Coleoptera: Elateridae and Throscidae. My focus is primarily on the fauna of the southeast (AL, GA, FL, SC, MS, NC and TN) and my home state, Arizona. However, I am building a reference collection for North America and welcome specimens from the continental United States, Canada and Alaska.

I also collect insect/arthropod toys, models, figures and replicas!

I am also a competitive runner, triathlete and aquathlete; also body-builder.
