Biography:

I come from a family of artists, engineers, outdoorsmen, and musicians, sharing strong interests with all, but am very far from mastering any particular field. As I age, my interests and my glasses both get stronger, but I seem to see less of the finer details I increasingly seek, so I consider myself very fortunate to have the opportunity to compensate through use of today's rapidly improving and readily available digital cameras.

My posts prior to July 2006 were taken with a hand-me-down Fuji Finepix S5000. From then until the end of 2007, I was having much more fun with a Canon S3. Santa was good to me that year, coughing up a "real" camera, my first digital SLR, a Canon Rebel XTi. Shortly thereafter, I coughed up the cash for the Canon 100mm f/2.8 macro lens for it. Yummmm.... I use some Kenko extension tubes now and then for the real close work. Now, I just need to figure out how to become independently wealthy. Before the "real" camera arrived I already got in plenty of trouble running around chasing bugs when I should have been working, now it's much worse... Bugs, birds, planes, race cars... There's no relief!
