I have amassed a (still growing) collection of insect photos taken in my yard and I'm trying to identify and learn about them. I now own several guide books, but many (most?) of the species I've photographed aren't in them.

I recently discovered the BugGuide community--all the helpful experts and great photos available are giving me hope that all my mystery bugs will eventually be honored with names! I have so much to learn. Unfortunately, I'm learning only after the fact that I should have made more careful note of dates, specimen size and even the plant material it was on. I promise to do better in the future. :-) Thank you, everyone, for your patience and help.
