I have a M.Sc. Environmental Biology (Entomology), supervised by Dr. Stephen A. Marshall, at the University of Guelph. I reviewed the Neotropical sphaerocerid fly genus Aptilotella
(Diptera: Sphaeroceridae: Limosininae).
I have been interested in nature from an early age, collecting and studying insects as a casual childhood pastime. I began to seriously pursue their study since 2006, eventually joining the University of Guelph Insect Systematics Laboratory
I enjoy observing the insects I encounter, and have integrated photography into this effort. I joined BG shooting insects with a Canon PowerShot A700, transitioned to a Canon EOS D450 (Digital Rebel XSi), and now use a 60D with the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM and Speedlite 580EX II.
