Biography:

Zoology student at the University of Guelph. I am currently a volunteer in the Insect Systematics Lab working with northeastern Lampyridae. I'm also an ornithology enthusiast and enjoy birding.

I've had an interest in nature ever since I immigrated to Canada in 1996. I collected casually as a pastime, but because my specimens were neither mounted nor labeled, this eight-year work is a shambles. I've started a new collection since mid-2006 (which happened to coincide with my joining BugGuide).

I make every effort to learn what I can about the various insects I encounter. This, hand-in-hand with my interest in insect photography, has taught me much over the past two-and-a-half years. Thanks to BugGuide, with its many dedicated members, for showing me so much about the insect world!

Up until May '08, I shot with a Canon PowerShot A700 digital camera, using improvised equipment and techniques. I have since transitioned to a Canon EOS D450 (Digital Rebel XSi) with EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM.
