What kind of beetle? - Acmaeodera macra

What kind of beetle? - Acmaeodera macra
Weatherford, Parker County, Texas, USA
September 25, 2014
This not-quite-camouflaged beetle was on a Heterotheca latifolia flower, and I'd like to know what it is. Thanks.

Moved from Acmaeodera.

...nice picture, shows the pronotal spots well...
This is Acmaeodera macra, probably more common in the southern portions of Texas. Some specimens can be quite large, as Acmaeodera go.

Thank you....
I'm always interested in insects and like learning about new ones (to me). Thanks for the response.

Moved from ID Request.

Well....
