Hi Tim, sorry for the late response. Unfortunately, I do not recall the plant they were on, although I might be able to jog my memory if I were able to revisit the site. I don't live in the area any more, so I don't know if I'll get a chance to.

Drew. I live near Karohl Park, and often go there, and was wondering where to look for these Membracids (and there ant attendants).

While the particular plant in the photo escapes my memory, E. carinata can be found on a wide variety of herbaceous plants. I most commonly find them (nymphs at least) on thistles.
