definitely not as it seems

totally out of geographic scope, but this looks identical to Pidorus atratus, native to East Asia. At the very least, this guy belongs in Zygaenidae. note the red head and small thorax.

Your location info is all confused

You have two states and the USA in the county field. Please click on edit and fix the locations. Select the correct state in the first field. Enter the county in the second field. Then put more specific information, park, town, city, etc in the third field. You do not need to put USA anywhere. The software will add that automatically once you select a state. Thanks

This species has been recorded only in Florida that I know of. Are you sure on the location. Do you have a idea of the wingspan?

this is the closest moth that i found. Trichodezia albovittata (White-Striped Black). unfortunately, i don't know the wingspan. is it the same as the moth that you found in florida ? thanks!
