Phidippus audax

Phidippus audax
Santa Clara County, California, USA
September 29, 2014
Until I got back to my computer to look at the photos, I did not notice that what I think is a Phidippus audax had somehow sprouted antennae! Best guess of prey so far from Doug Yanega who observed "The prey item has the right number of antennal segments to be something like a male Lasioglossum, but it's impossible to see."

Moved from Jumping Spiders.

P. audax
You are correct that this is a P. audax, but identifying the prey will be more difficult.

These images submitted by Lynette were a fantastic addition to the guide. They show a similar jumper in CA that has beautiful coloration as an immature jumper and is a typical color form as an adult.

Moved for the experts
Moved from ID Request. Yes on genus but not so sure on species with all the red on it. We'll see what others think.
