I think this is actually a Gray Comma
Polygonia progne

The two species look very similar, but the upper side on P. comma normally has more dark pattern in the middle of the hind wing, and on the underside (after blowing it up) it has the pattern of P. progne; notably, the comma mark isn't enlarged nor hooked at the tips.
