Beetle 2 - Orsodacne atra

Beetle 2 - Orsodacne atra
Fairfield, Wayne County, Illinois, USA
March 25, 2007

Orsodacne atra
both seem to be Orsodacne atra. Funny how this one looks like a three-line potato beetle or some of the fleabeetles and the other like Oulema. The strongly punctured pronotum and the antennal implant far apart are good characters for recognizing these beetles
Must be feeding on the pollen.

Thanks
for the added confirmation, Rob. Hope our images of spring offset the depression of fall in the southern hemisphere for you. :)

fortunately for me
It´s summer and beetle collecting all year round here in Iquitos

Orsodacne?
just a guess, but looks like it :-)
