Large Wasp - Dielis plumipes - female

Large Wasp - Dielis plumipes - Female
Weaver Dunes, Kellogg, Minnesota, USA
July 23, 2004
I've ID'd this as Campsomeris plumipes-confluenta. Would I be correct in that?

Moved

Campsomeris plumipes, female
Moved from Campsomeris.

Moved
Moved from Scoliid Wasps.

Really?!
At first I thought it was some kind of saw fly because I didn't see the characteristic waist found in wasp!, until I looked closer!

Probably
This is definitely a female scoliid wasp (Scoliidae), but I have little experience with anything other than Scolia. Campsomeris is a pretty safe bet.
