Furcula 101

Manubrium: large median base
Dens: proximal segment of furcula arm
Mucro: distal segment of furcula arm (not really focused in this pic)
Retinaculum: 'clasplike appendage' on 3rd abdominal segment; holds furcula in repose
Collophore: fleshy protuberance on 1st abdominal segment used in osmoregulation

'in training' you claim? Not for long anymore, I see ;-)

Note: the mucro in Entomobryidae is very very small and therefore cannot be seen on macrophotographs, even when in focus.
