Hodges #3751 - Psychedelic Jones Moth - Thaumatographa jonesi
Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida, USA
October 12, 2014
Size: ~6mm length
At outdoor light. This is the second individual I encountered within 3 days after having photographed one in October a year ago. There must be something they like in the surroundings of our suburban home. BugGuide Info tells us "(h)as been collected near pine forests" (yes, many pines here) and "(h)ost plant records for T. jonesi, as well as other moths in the tribe Hilarographini, are rare and usually weird."
