Excellent, a new species for
Excellent, a new species for the guide and what I was thinking before I had the specimen in hand. This is Neohypnus melanops, a quite infrequently collected species found in drier sandier areas. Under a rock is a typical microhabitat. Something I find useful to pick out this from other similar species is the very elongate pronotum.

. . . but colouration tells, this cannot be one of the two species of Xantholinus listed in Nearctica.
