Sorry, I found it on the ground, actually on a road shoulder, crawling into the grass.

i would kill or die to find one..I do think I saw the adult many years ago.

Dorsal 'eye' mark
I posted this shot to show the species' 'eye'; I've been told this one is its final instar prior to pupating, matches the one posted for this species on the Moth Photographers Group website.
Dorsal eye mark similar to Ello Sphinx and Abbott's Sphinx larva.
