Two-striped Grasshopper - Melanoplus bivittatus - female

Two-striped Grasshopper - Melanoplus bivittatus - Female
Fort Bragg, Cumberland County, North Carolina, USA
June 10, 2004

I would like to see more from this location
The location calls for subspecies femoratus, but the coloring (except the red hind tibiae) looks much like subspecies bivittatus.

This is the southernmost posting for this species in the East, so far.

Moved from Two-Striped Grasshopper.

I agree.
Very nice portrait of the two-striped grasshopper.
