Identification
Small flies, about 1 mm, with radial veins short, C not extending past R4+5, and crossveins nearly in line with each other.
Range
Mostly tropical, with one or two species ranging north to Minnesota and New Brunswick.
Remarks
Larvae of one species were found in fungi. Adults are attracted to dung and carrion.
