Trioza obtusa (male)
A member of the
Trioza frontalis
group, a complex of similar species that breed on
Amelanchier
. In the eastern US there is only one similar species,
T. aylmeriae
, but males of the two spp. can be easily separated by the shape of the caudal lobe of the proctiger.
