Syrphini lacking pigmentation on abdomen? - Epistrophe grossulariae

Syrphini lacking pigmentation on abdomen? - Epistrophe grossulariae
Shediac - Parlee Beach Provincial Park, Westmorland County, New Brunswick, Canada
October 15, 2014
Size: est. 11 mm.
On low vegetation at edge of mixed forest. I really got excited when I first spotted this as I thought it was a new syrphid. But I think it is some common syrphini lacking the yellow pigmentation on the abdomen? Temperature 18C (close to 65F). Interesting to see that the hairs along the margin of the abdomen are yellow where the yellow bands would normally be.
