Spent my birthday (much of it, anyway) exploring a bog in Ashburnham. Among other critters, ran into this little robber. Took the best photos I could in harsh lighting and vegetation conditions; at least the fly was cooperative. Pretty sure I have the genus down; I see elsewhere that Herschel Raney cites at least four species of this genus possible in MA, but not sure what characters would have to be visible for species identification.
