Cochineal (Dactylopius) - Hyperaspis trifurcata

Cochineal (Dactylopius) - Hyperaspis trifurcata
Austin, Travis County, Texas, USA
October 31, 2014
This is a ridiculously close focus and cropped image of a female cochineal. My question is about the tube to the right of the insect. Any information will be appreciated.

This larva identified as Hyperaspis trifurcata looks different--is it something else?

ID - Hyperaspis trifurcata larva
This is actually the larva of a coccinelid beetle (Hyperaspis trifurcata) that feeds on cochineal, on top of the female cochineal. The tube to the right of the larva is the cocoon of a male cochineal.
