Found several of these caterpillars in folded up sassafras leaves while looking for spicebush swallowtails.

You'll have more luck getting an ID
if you crop your image to a rectangle that is essentially 'just the bug'. While you as contributor can click on your image and see the full size 3000 pixel image you posted, the rest of us are restricted to a 560 pixel reduction. We see a tiny C shaped something that takes up less than 10% of the image in a sea of sasafrass leaves.
