This particular grasshopper was photographed a week ago on my Gerbera Daisies, the first I've ever seen like this. Today we met again although he looked a bit beat up. The smoothness behind his neck area had an obvious piece missing. Amazed by the hot pink shimmer.

that show the end of the abdomen (the curved ovipositor is there), I can probably tell more easily which species of Scudderia she is.

I have many other pictures if you'd like them for analysis. In this image I carefully relocated him to my Azalea bushes for a little more safe-keeping. The wind was picking up and whipping my Daisy about (where he was perched).
