CNY pallid roaches! - Ectobius pallidus

CNY pallid roaches! - Ectobius pallidus
Jamesville, Onondaga County, New York, USA
September 26, 2014
This was my target species for the night. BugGuide user Bob Gates, who had previously found this species on his property, was kind enough to let me tromp around his yard one evening to try to find this species. After about an hour of searching, I was ready to call it quits. But on my way out of the backyard, I thought I spotted a very, very tiny nymph hiding in a low-growing vine, but it scuttled away before I could make a positive ID. I searched in the vines some more and ended up finding nearly a dozen or so nymphs of various sizes perched on leaves, just like this individual. Many thanks to Bob for helping me find and photograph this attractive little species!
