Kochius hirsuticauda

Kochius hirsuticauda
Little Picacho wilderness, Imperial County, California, USA
Size: 12mm
Accidentally captured while collecting sand from a rocky wash.

This is a new genus for bugguide, formerly considered Vaejovis/Paravaejovis hirsuticauda, similar in appearance to serradigitus, however easily identified by the long fine dense trichobothriae (hairs) on the telson.

This species is very widespread, but rarely encountered, due to its lithophilous nature.
