Were you thiking Omiodes indicata?

 
Looks very similar but
Omiodes indicata seems to be seen only in the southeast, not as far north as Maryland, and mostly in autumn, rather than mid-summer. But its spatial and temporal distributions look undersampled, so it probably can't be ruled out by that.

Some of the Psara, Pleuroptya, and Herpetogramma species also look similar in appearance on MPG.
