banded fly - male

banded fly - Male
Thedford Conservation Area, Lambton, Ontario, Canada
June 11, 2004
Size: about 8 mm
The abdominal bands are more prominent/complete than the ones I saw in the Guide. And that crease near the tip of the scutellum... is that part of the subscutellum?

Moved from Tachinidae.

Tachinidae
This might be Thelaira but I am not sure

Tachinid
Tachinid fly for sure, but I will not hazard a guess to the genus or species name. And the crease: I think it has a small dent in the scutellum!
