familiar-looking languriid - Loberus impressus

familiar-looking languriid - Loberus impressus
Nashua, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
April 6, 2007
Size: about 2.5 mm
Found in some older, greenish tree fungus gathered from a dead deciduous tree near the water's edge in a swampy area (perhaps a wide slow-moving creek). Under magnification it showed that glossy lustre and longish antennae bearing a three-segmented club that I have come to associate with the small cryptop*hagid-like lizard beetles. Inded, it seems to match well with some I shot last year :-)
