Treehopper ZH3Z1157 - Ophiderma salamandra

Treehopper ZH3Z1157 - Ophiderma salamandra
Pymatuning Reservoir, Jamestown, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, USA
July 3, 2006
I have this identified as either Ophiderma salamandra or O. definita. I may have posted this years ago and then frassed it. If so, I appologize for reposting. That said, the Info page for O. salamandra mentions that species as being not as hairy as O. pubescens. I would conclude that O. pubescens is also possible, if not the most likely, and that salamandra is unlikely. I don't have a better angle for this individual.

you were spot on, Steve... my bad. =v=

ID Question
Do you know how pubescens is separated? I added references with keys and descriptions to the Info page for that species but am still at a loss.

Thanks for following up on these!

this one has a crest... i think that should rule out Ophiderma
