Remarks

Diverse in habits. T. varians feeds in apple seeds (in Europe, also known from pear and hawthorn). T. pallidicornis parasitizes a cecidomyiid in birch catkins, and T. azureus parasitizes a cecidomyiid in spruce cones. T. sulcatus parasitizes cynipids in oak galls, and T. fagopirum parasitizes cynipids on blackberry (questionably also oak). T. aea initially parasitizes larvae of Megastigmus (Torymidae) in Amelanchier seeds, then feeds on the seeds themselves.
