Aquatic Leaf Beetle - Plateumaris
Mountain Meadows Reservoir area next to Westwood, elevation 5050ft, Lassen County, California, USA

Size: Body length 6.5mm
I suppose genus Plateumaris or Donacia.
My thanks for any further ID help.

Several of these beetles were observed flying about the marshy plants growing along the shoreline of the lake. There seemed to be two color variants; greenish-bronze like this specimen, and purplish like the specimen linked below:

just 4 spp. in CA, but these things are impossible to ID...
