Hope you're there, Gerard. I'm thinking Eupeodes because of your ID on this post, where you reference shine and margin on abdomen. Have I finally got it right?

I have the feeling that it might be genus Syrphus, but it is very difficult to identify those genera just from the picture.. If you have them under the microscope, it is much easier..
