Unknown beetle #5 - Alobates pensylvanicus

Unknown beetle #5 - Alobates pensylvanicus
Durham County, North Carolina, USA
April 4, 2007

Darkling beetle
I'd guess Alobates pennsylvanica.

Looks like, but A. pennsylvanica is large.
This one could be way too tiny to be that species. There is no size data given.

Sorry for the omission:
2-2.5 cm

Good, then I concur.
I was teasing a bit, Roger :-)

Thanks...
...for taking the time to i.d. my specimens. It makes learning natural history easy.
