Minute Tree-fungus Beetle Pupa - Ceracis thoracicornis - male

Minute Tree-fungus Beetle Pupa - Ceracis thoracicornis - Male
Guelph, Wellington, Ontario, Canada
March 10, 2007
Size: ~ 1 mm
As much as the polypore fungi that I collected weeks ago are rotting and getting moldy, they are still thriving ... Braconid Wasps and Ciids have been constantly emerging, and I get new individuals appearing almost everyday. I finally found the pupa of a Ciid (I'm guessing Ceracis) that is smaller than the more abundant Cis.

Forgot the symbol!
I love how those projections show up so well even in the pupa :-)
