Does this help?
I'm afraid this is all I have:

Thanks for all your help. I've been having a lot of fun with all these little rotten log beetles, but they're bewildering!

better but not much, alas... they are tough; not acutangulus tho
i'm afraid the specimen wasn't collected, was it?
anyway, you can try to look for a match in(1), but expect agony and frustration rather than a conclusive outcome; the most common and widespread spp. are there alright, but it's just a fraction of what could be found in the wild

Not collected, no.
Still out there in the woodpile somewhere.
