Might Be 8246 - Lerina incarnata
One of the southwestern Arctiid moths. But I can't be positive based on these photos.

How about
What do you think of a Euchaetes fusca possibility? I'm just not sure about that white marking.

Hard to tell-
without seeing the HW. It could be either a Euchaetes or Pygarctia, and I don't know these genera well enough to gestalt it - so this is a good place for the image. It isn't Lerina incarnata - those are distinctively and stunningly shiny blue/green.

Euchaetes
Actually, when I looked closer I noticed the left FW is in fact broken off near the median area and that is the HW we're seeing along the abdomen.

Given the lateral white marking on the thorax and the appearance of the HW (concolorous with FW with whitish-hyaline median area), I feel comfortable calling this a male Euchaetes bolteri.

oh!
I didn't notice that before either - that's the hindwing and not a tattered forewing! E. bolteri it is.

...
I'm glad you commented on it or I probably would have never taken another look at it. Thanks for bringing attention back to it. :-)
