Ctenucha virginica

Ctenucha virginica
Walpole, Cheshire County, New Hampshire, USA
December 3, 2014
Size: 5/8 inch long (15 mm)
I found this Ctenucha virginica caterpillar crawling across our snow-covered lawn in below freezing temperatures in early December. I brought the caterpillar inside to my desk to get a photo, and then released it to overwinter outside.
