Crabronidae cocoons in sand - Trypoxylon politum

Size: 18 mm
May 2, 2014: collected 3 wasp cocoons exposed on a sandy hill prairie
July 12, 2014: on or before, 1 adult male wasp emerged (photos 2 through 6)
July 13, 2014: 1 adult wasp emerged (no photo)
but I put the rearing jar into the freezer forgetting about the 3rd cocoon
September 28, 2014: finally opened and photographed the 3rd cocoon (photos 7 & 8)
