New genus for BG.

And to think
not that long ago I didn't pay attention to mites (ticks, yes, and oh those little red velvet mites on the woodland floor).
Thanks.

Chaetodactylidae
These are chaetodactylid mites (Sarcoptiformes: Astigmata: Chaetodactylidae), probably members of the genus Chaetodactylus. Information about this bee-associated family is here: http://insects.ummz.lsa.umich.edu/beemites/Species_Accounts/Chaetodactylidae.htm

Vidia
I don't think these are Chaetodactylus. Those mites are not found on Megachile, but are common on Lithurgus, Osmia & a few other megachilids. These are certainly a species of Winterschmidtiidae, genus Vidia. This genus contains specialists that live with leaf-cutting Megachile. Curiously, resin collecting Megachile, fornerly Chalicodoma, host acarid mites in the genus Cerophagopsis.

Oops, thanks for the correction Barry!

Thank you very much.
If anyone like some of the mites for a closer look I'll send.
