One of my very favorite pictures. I have a bunch of Datana...they all look very similar.

How do you tell them all apart?

Not well!
I don't tell them apart well, but I've tried to from using the description given on Caterpillars of Eastern Forests and my Peterson Guide to Caterpillars. Between the Contracted Datana and Yellow-necked Datana, and Drexel's Datana I'm about as frustrated as I am when I try to ID Duskywings! Another helpful site...
