Unknown Psocopteran -
Liposcelis hirsutoides

Size: 1 mm
This tiny plant louse was collected in leaf litter in an oak hammock. It was very hard-bodied, unlike others I am finding.

I really think this is..
Liposcelis hirsutoides. The pale areas on abdominal tergites 1 and 2 are a characteristic of this species. Also, the subgenital plate looks right. The range is right also "southeast Texas north to Matagorda Co. and from Highlands Co. in central -peninsular Florida". I will forward your post to Dr. Mockford and see of he agrees.

Where (how) did you find it?
This one reminds me of Liposcelis hirsutoides which I find on mesquite.

This one was found
by processing a gallon bag of leaf litter through a Berlese funnel. The litter was collected in an oak hammock. The leaves were mostly from live oak and muscadine grape . Mesquite is a common name for several species of leguminous plants in other regions of the US, and there are legumes growing in the Preserve I am studying, but nothing similar to the desert mesquite species.
