Unknown mite, parasitizing an undescribed Thyrocopa moth
Molokai Island, Hawaii, near Kamakou (approx. 1400m elevation), Maui County, Hawaii, USA
August 20, 2010
I found these mites parasitizing many Lepidoptera near the summit of Molokai. I know that IDing them to low taonomic group is probably impossible given this image, but anything would be appreciated - Family, or even Order. Maybe this is impossible, but I thought I'd give it a shot here. Also, the mites in this photo are a bit shriveled up, as they'd been dead for a while before I took the photo.
