Araneus - male

Araneus - Male
Burton Mesa Ecological Reserve, Santa Barbara County, California, USA
January 12, 2015
Size: ~5mm head+body
Found in sandy Burton Mesa chaparral habitat. Looked to be a subadult male, he was in the process of constructing his web when photographed. He's much larger than other A. montereyensis looking males I've observed previously.
